Do you believe that a god of death needs a suitable weapon other than death scythes to fight? Since I realize that this anime highlights the theme ' bravery', I started to enjoy this anime. As I know, this anime was released at around year 2008 if I am not mistaken which light novel series was written by Atsushi Okubo originally and the characters in the anime was designed by Ito Yoshyuki, though the characters are not so cool to me but since they are epic enough for me to laugh lol~
Alright! Back to the topic, the story sets around a school which trains meisters or you can say them as a ' trainee shinigami ', since its just a normal school on earth but the students as well as the teachers there are weird than we can say normal, as the main characters Maka (upper right) and her weapon partner Soul (sharp teeth) who are among the students together with Black★Star (upper left) and his weapon Tsubaki (below Soul) and Death the Kid (bottom right) which are fighting together in groups against the witches and kishin. All I can say is that a meister's job is to collect impure souls through battling and their weapon will feed them, the rules stated that by collecting 99 impure souls and 1 witch's soul in order to become a true death scythe. Though I was confused about everything at first but can understand by watching the second time lol~ Still, there is quite a lot of swt jokes in every episodes, the funniest i thought was Maka slipped while using her final technique against her zombie teacher haha.
And still, the OP and ED soundtracks are quite nice too as the OP1 is " Resonance " by TM Revolution and OP2," Papermoon " by Tommy Heavenly6 while ED1," I wanna be "(I've forgotten the singer), ED2 "Style" by Kana Nishino, ED3 " Bakusou Yume-Uta " by Diggy-Mos and ED4 " Strength " by Abingdon Boys school. Among those op and eds, I'd say that OP2 are very meaningful since it encourages us not to give up matters even in your nightmares or whatever and ED4 highlights that be determined to do things that you want and try to make it successful, that's what I think~Though its an old anime but I'm likely to recommend each viewers if you guys haven't watched it yet, catch on the episodes now or I'll take your soul!
